Smells burnt as hell. Like motor oil?

[ one of his arms will make its way down to the last mask and... well. he does look surprised when he sees who it is, but doesn't say anything specific. ]

[cool, they all have their masks now.]

... Well, that's not concerning at all.

Hmm... foreshadowing.

Let's pull ourselves together before going any further.

[ which he is working on... ]

[Whatever is happening with the door will patiently wait while they pull themselves together.

While they assemble themselves, they will notice that though their body parts do click back into place (literally), they can easily be removed again. Their flesh is still flesh, but they will notice faint ridges where their bodies came apart. All they will need to do is gently tug.]

[ well. time to drag all his limbs back to his torso and wriggle them into place. is his arm still stinging?

once everything's where it should be, he holds up the brilith mask and peers through it without putting it directly on his face just yet. ]

So... we put these on and then what? It eats our faces off?

It's been transformation, in my experience.

[ but uh yeah phoenix takes longer to potato head himself together but also waits to see what happens with belph..... he immediately becomes a shipping mess. ]

[Ash's arm still stings! Alas. With the lights on, he will notice something red beading up where he was pricked.

Belph puts on the mask












and nothing happens!

anyway, when belph's face doesn't explode, ash just puts the mask straight on. the sooner he's out of here the sooner he can maybe stop his arm being all sting. ]

[presumably, akira puts his own as we also wait for phoenix to put his on ig

or for ash to die, because that's looking like the other option]

[ phoenix puts on his, but he's also drifting closer to ash to see what's up ]

[If Ash is just looking, it looks red and viscous.

Putting their masks on, similarly, does absolutely nothing. But, hey. Now they're wearing hyper realistic masks of their friends? Nice.]

[actually, belph is going to remove his mask if he can, both to see properly as he moves back across the room and also as a reference point in case they weren't supposed to put on the masks.

[They can, in fact, take off the masks! The masks do nothing except, uh, look creepy realistic in an uncanny valley sort of way.

After hitting the switch, they will hear a click! Wow. Wonder where that could have come from.]

Sounds like the door.

anyway i assume someone opens the door as someone else like maybe helps akira through it while belph follows behind]

[The door is still locked.









Okay, no. It's unlocked now! When they open it, more motor oil spills out — and they will immediately notice why.

The room beyond the door is covered in plastic wrap from top to bottom. The biggest difference, though? It's soaked in motor oil as well. The appearance is unnervingly like blood, even if the smell is a dead giveaway. The single LED light in the ceiling flickers. The low humming sound seems to be a little closer now, but they're not quite there. There is another panel next to the door, but this one only has one switch.

Inside the room, they will find five doors. Two on the right, and two on the left. There are glass windows besides these four doors, and there appears to be a room beyond them — but the lights are off on the other side so they can't quite make anything out from their current position. There is another door across the room, directly adjacent to the door they just walked through. On the corner of the room, there is............. a pile of naked bodies. Uh. Hm.

Just like the previous room, however, they will find a another table covered in plastic wrap in the center of the room. There's another silver platter with a lid on top of it.

[AKIRA WAS HERE THE WHOLE TIME I PROMISE, piecing himself together, wearing Akechi masks, feeling vaguely. . . uncomfortable. . . about wearing an Akechi mask. anyway he keeps the mask on but keeps it sitting on the top of his head. it's fine]
