[The laptop definitely looks a big banged up now that Giyuu has retrieved it, something rattling inside as he scoops it up. The fire continues to encroach upon the room, eating away at the desk, the monitors, the speakers, and slowly spreading up the walls and the desk chair. The smoke continues to build up in the room, and the flames begin to lick at them in the time it gets them to to gather. If they're not careful, they will get singed.
But they won't die in this room.
Luckily for them, it's easier to open the door this time around. Dimitri rams into the door, and it's ripped right off its hinges. He goes down with it, sliding across the floor in the other room. Shinobu and Giyuu might want to follow after him, because the flames suddenly grow so much more intense now that the door is open.]
[ unfortunately for my entire reply, giyuu is careful to not get singed and he also lets go of dimitri at the very last moment before he rams himself into the door, which thankfully, goes flying off of the hinges. small blessings he supposes? the rattling of the laptop is concerning if only because he doesn't know if it should be making that noise.
are these things suppose to make noise?
anyway, no time to be glad or think too much about things that were already supposed to be nice and easy to begin with, so cue giyuu to get the fuck out of the room with the fire and over to his angry....person he knows from the island who he has no idea if they're friends anymore because he isn't brave enough to ask.
he'll make sure that shinobu is out in the clear as well as the state of the cabin/fire? ]
[ dimitri lands on the ground with a crash, slightly dazed when everything is still ringing from staring at things he shouldn't. the smoke burns as it floods out with them, and he shakes his head, trying to get his bearings between what he's seen and what is going on around them.
he can keep calm in battle, but this... ]
Where...
[ he pulls himself to his feet, but it's clear he's still not talking to his present company. he looks around the cabin again, like he's searching for something.
[ Shinobu is getting singed (HER HAORI) because she cares more about seeing those two out first than anything else right now. The fire isn't stopping or slowing and is only getting stronger.
She runs after the two and sees that Dimitri is focused on something else that is not escaping. ]
[The fire creeps out of the room, consuming the wall and spreading towards the bathroom and the kitchenette. The heat continues to rise as the smoke steadily spreads through the rest of the cabin.
They have ten seconds left before the fire climbs high enough to start consuming the roof. The whole cabin is made out of wood, y'all. They will absolutely get burned if they continue to stand around.]
[ let's...not talk about that fire and only focus on getting out.
the smoke is really something else and giyuu brings one of sleeves to cover his face. it isn't much but it'll work as a good enough buffer not that it helps with the heat. machinery don't do well in this kind of heat, right? he unconsciously pulls it closer to his person while he places a hand on dimitri's back before giving his shoulder a shake.
later. they can all talk this out later. ]
We need to leave.
[ as if that isn't obvious enough but he's going to be grabbing a hold of hands (wrists) if no one is hurrying themselves out of the cabin because that is his entire prerogative right now. out of the cabin. no one is going become extra crispy thank you. ]
[ Their joined efforts seem to dislodge him from his thoughts, as though the smoke doesn't do enough already. He blinks at Giyuu when he feels all three of them get tugged along at the entrance and—
It's not a sharp shock of lucidity, but he can't die here. (He shouldn't let any of them die here.) So he shakes himself free, only so he can step back, fire licking around his boots as he charges the door again.
It just opened with a kick last time, but whatever. ]
[ what if my goal is for shinobu to die of smoke inhalation and burns
Shinobu doesn't need to be dragged to leave. She just wants to make sure everyone is going to first! People have the right to make a choice first (before it's vetoed).
If Dimitri wants to charge the way out, that's fine(?). She looks at his back with a furrowed brow even as she runs after him, trying not to cough and breathe more smoke in as she goes.
[Charging at the door does the trick! How lucky. The door is ripped out of its hinges, and Dimitri goes rolling across the grass, coming to a stop when he hits a tree a few yards away. The fire is nearly at the front door by this point, so it's excellent timing.
But now that the cabin is wide open, the fire grows and grows and grows — until the cabin more or less explodes. Giyuu and Shinobu will successfully exit the building, but since they stuck inside long enough for the fire to nearly consume the cabin entirely, they will be sent flying once the structure bursts at the seams. Dimitri will be bruised from rolling across the ground, hitting the tree, and throttling two doors in a row. Meanwhile, Shinobu and Giyuu's clothing will catch fire at the hems. The flames will be quelled easily enough if they think to roll around, and they will escape with very minor burns. Dealer's choice on where, exactly, these burns will be located.
Smoke steadily rises from the inferno that once used to be a cabin. Goodbye, mysterious cabin in the woods.]
