On Monday afternoon, regardless of where Flayn and Shinobu are, they will each soon find a familiar blue mini lop at their feet, circling around them before zooming its way back to the directors' office. It will continue hounding each of them until they follow, leading them into the door marked 3B ❄️. As they each enter, they'll get the urge to check their travel guide, and upon opening it they will find new rules updated for their eyes and their eyes alone. Rules for Wickets 2.) On certain weeks, however, the team leader may task the Wickets with eliminating one person from the competition in addition to their normally assigned task. 3.) While assignments require that both Wickets collaborate, that is not necessarily the case when eliminating a camper. While both must come to an agreement on who to eliminate, it is not necessary that both become involved in the act itself. It is up to the Wickets' discretion to decide if they will act as accomplices to each other, or only send one of their own to carry out the task. After reviewing the rules, whichever of them arrives first will notice that Winter is seated at their desk. Were they always there...? Oh, well. They plop the bunny down on their lap and gesture at one of the two seats on the other side of the desk. "Hey. Let's talk." |

[ Dazai is three years younger than she is. ]
There is no good choice for murder.

[Flayn's stomach churns. She truly hates this.]
That being the case... if we are to look at the bigger picture, then we should be looking for those who would understand, and would... do what they can to help, if there is information to be gathered on the other side.
no subject
I do not want to leave you alone in this, but would you hate me if I said myself?
no subject
[she shakes her head]
I could not hate you for that. I— of course, I would like to see you survive this, but...
[...]
...had I been chosen to be the executioner yesterday, I do not think I would have walked out of there alive. And it would not have been because I wanted to leave you to face this alone, but— it would not have been only because I would have been outmatched, either.
no subject
I would not blame you. If we cannot make a terrible choice, then it must be one of us, and I do understand the necessity. Even in death, one can be helpful, and we know it's not the end.
It would be an insult to Narukami-kun, if I were afraid and unwilling to swing a blade again, but without anyone else we know who'd be understanding, at least we both understand.
[ But she does think she could be able to do some good in the graveyard. ]
People care about you, Flayn-san, and for good reason.
no subject
[Even if some of them, like Giyuu, have a real fucking funny way of showing it.]
Please, do not ever doubt that they do.
no subject
I know. I know I am going against what I last said to you on the island by doing this as well.
[ It pains her more than she admits, to do so. Shinobu maintains her smile, but it wavers ever so slightly.
She promised, as long as she were able, and... ]
I am sorry.

[Her voice comes out in a whisper.]
We are in this together. I will support you in what you decide. If... this is the choice you want to make, I cannot fault you for it. But only if you are certain, Shinobu.
[It's a risk, to die here. She dearly wants to believe they'll be able to rescue the dead, but from the sound of it - it's a slim chance. But if Shinobu is willing, and there's a possibility that they may be able to use her presence there to save everyone, then the risk is worth taking.
And hasn't Shinobu always said that it is her goal to save just one more life?]

[ Her smile is rueful. She's used her death as a tool at home, and she hopes it can be similar here.
This spares a life for now, from causing heartbreak to others in another way even if she knows there are people who won't be untouched by her own passing. She doesn't necessarily think it's brave or noble of her to die, not with the blood on her hands, but she does want to able to help in a way that sits better with her. Even if they aren't close, she still hates leaving Flayn like this. ]
With the personalities we know on the other side, I'll try my best to organize them. I will give you the scroll, and hopefully, it will be of use for you on Saturday.
[ If they can narrow down suspects sooner rather than later. ]
no subject
[...she doesn't want Shinobu to die.
But she can't take away her choice in the matter, either. So. If this is how it's going to be, then she will have to do her best to move forward, too.]
...will it be safe to bring it to the trial...? If questioned about where I received it, I... I do not know what I would say.
no subject
[ This enforced secrecy is! the! worst! ]
But if you do have to use it during the trial, you can name me, if that's allowed. I do not know if you will be able to with whatever rules are in place, but you can say I gave it to you and did not explain how I received it.
[ That's mostly true. She is giving the scroll to Flayn, and she didn't explain how she got the scroll because Flayn already knows how. ]
The dead tell no tales. But if they ask why I gave it to you over anyone else... it's because I believe in your sincerity, and well, Tomioka-san just lost an arm for revealing too much.
no subject
[The dead can tell plenty tales, here - but she knows Shinobu won't tell any. At least, not about her.]
...I will try to live up to your belief in me, Shinobu.
no subject
[ Her smile is warm and sincere. ]
Shall we work out how I should communicate from the other side with those limited amount of words?
no subject
[...]
Perhaps... something with numbers? We can assign a number to a topic in advance, so that I will immediately know what you are referring to without your needing to explain.
no subject
[ What are the common topics? ]
Tasks? Culprits? [ She doubts that would be let through even with a coding system, but they can still try. ] If there are rules down there like up here?
no subject
[...]
Anything that might involve a way to rescue more than the few we have been told we can save, as well.
no subject
[ Is that something she should try to get around? ]

no subject
[ It's hard to pinpoint when there's so much still unknown. ]
no subject
[Die.
Gods, she doesn't want to say it.]
...well, we shall let each other know.
no subject
Yes. I will be open to whatever you may suggest.
[ britt please give me a memory as a death gift ]
no subject
[then what? who knows! happy dieday, ara, their conversation is interrupted by the sudden onset of a memory. at first, she'll only hear the voices - her vision is blurred, though it's possible to make out that she's lying on the ground. she tries to sit up, but she can't, and she only makes it out of that strange underground chamber because her classmates carry her and the "other girl" out.
upstairs, she conserves her strength and stays quiet as they check her over, listening to their conversations until she's taken to the infirmary. once they've left her there, stubbornly, she leaves - she knows the Professor (who is actually a woman but i couldn't find an LPer who recorded this scene with the right class and the right Professor) will be reporting to her brother, and she knows her brother has the tendency to... be a bit paranoid.
she lingers outside his office door, eavesdropping, and when it gets to a certain point - she barges in to interfere.
the memory fades out after the Professor agrees to see to her safety.]
...ah.
no subject
It informs more than it doesn't about how much Flayn tries to do. And about the green blood. It's worrying that she's a kidnapping target, but at the very least... ]
I'm glad your brother was willing to listen to you.
[ She won't pretend that she didn't see that memory. ]
