Yeah, seems like it. I mean this is also assuming people will read, buuuut I have faith in them. Mostly. [a joke...but alas.] Figured it'd be more effective if we freed ourselves up to be more available for other things.
Right? What's the point of playing if you're all working off of different rules? I don't want people to be blindsided even if...the goal here isn't just to find the people who are guilty. It's always been about winning somehow, and the more time passes the bloodier this is probably going to be.
I know that's not what people want to hear, but we really need to be realistic.
Magnus was telling me about his game, and how towards the end there it kind of became a revenge cycle until they sorted it out? I hope it won't turn out like that here.
I'd rather it didn't. Magnus's circumstances were a bit...unusual, too, as far as games go. But I would hope that there's some sort of ending that is official rather than something that starts again at the end.
...they thought they were doing something to inspire people and keep them angry so they wouldn't lose focus and somehow didn't realize how fucked up it looked.
We're stuck in a camp and are meant to kill each other. How are we not angry? What, do they expect us to be miserable every goddamn second of the day? As if that's healthy and will make us work better? That's such bullshit.
Well. What he said to me, and I quote: "we lost two good people to an accident and two to a damn mistake. I want people to stay mad. Those are the people that will get things done. Just let people know that it's not a slight against you, and if they want someone to direct complaints, then I won't deny doing it. But that's not your job to explain."
[they sound. so exhausted saying this.] Bullheaded, that one. Didn't seem to grasp the concept that regardless of his intentions people would see it in multiple other ways and none of them are good.
Can Tsurumaru and Evan see what's happening? [ she assumes so ] Like, they would have been able to look here and see what killed them set to look like some sick occult crap?
Yeah. So...I'm hoping they maybe conveniently missed that before the rocks themselves were removed.
I don't know. When I talked to Guy he just kept talking about how he wanted to incite anger so people would focus and how he was upset he lost a friend and we wasted so much time at the beginning, and it's--[...ah.]
We exhausted all the options we had to talk about in the beginning. Or did he forget we hadn't found the body or any evidence yet? Or, what, did he want us to blindly guess at potential murder methods?
[ she sighs. ]
Sorry. That probably wasn't the best conversation for you to have.
Better me than Winter or Shadows. But I wish I knew. Nothing was logical about the conversation and it sort of felt like we were going in circles, but I'm sure if you asked him I was the one being unreasonable somehow. Like I actually love watching people get killed off and being unable to do anything about it.
I think that some people just have a perception that if we aren't outwardly miserable every second of the day then it means we aren't taking it seriously.
... but that's exhausting, you know? I'm sure we all feel the weight of what's happening, and everyone has a different way of dealing with that. Moving on absolutely nothing but anger can only take you so far until you explode-- and then what good will that do after?
That's what I said. Everyone has different ways of coping, so to be furious without offering anything but more fury and misery in return...it's shitty, Steph. [don't shorten her name, not allowed.] It's really shitty.
Maybe...some people are just meant to explode. But they have to know there'll always be people to fight back against them. I don't know what his endgame is.
Besides, overexposure to tragedy is overplayed. People will be inspired to fight for different reasons. No sense getting pissed because they don't believe in yours.
Pretty much. And I think that in situations like this... we need different perspectives. If all of us only did things and approached issues in the same exact way, we wouldn't be able to solve anything. People can notice stuff that someone else missed.
That's exactly it. That's what Guy wasn't understanding even if he was like "you don't have to agree with me." It's...people have a hard time seeing other perspectives when they're upset. I get that. But...we need people to be levelheaded, too. And not so selfish.
He can think we're not taking it seriously or whatever. He's still wrong, but I can see why he'd get frustrated. But getting all serial killer theatrics on us... yeah, no.
