That's not a terrible idea. It'd be nice to have a guaranteed way to stay in touch. You might actually be the best person to keep that book since I can't think of many people who wouldn't immediately waste it.

Fortunately, my old age has at least gifted me with a little more patience than I had in my youth. I can hold on to it, mm! I let a few people know I had it on the off chance I happened to die before we could use it, but maybe my strange luck will last me to the end here too, somehow.

As long as you're not worried about it getting looted before then I think that's a smart plan. You don't think somebody could just figure out what it does by looking at it?
