[after feeding the purple bunny, it zips off past the receptionist desk and down to the door marked as 3C 💜, granting lili access to the hallway temporarily. the door swings open for the bunny and as lili approaches she'll find a quaint office inside and purple heart seated on the desk. as the bunny jumps into their hands while they bend down, they use a gloved hand to gesture to the chairs before her.]

Hello. Have a seat, won't you?

[she'll go to do so, and honestly lili is still watching the bunny very enthralled because ultimately her weaknesses include: hot boys and cute bunnies. tragic. adorable soft bunny.....]

So - tell me who you are, what these teams are supposed to mean, and why I should care.

[they seem to notice this and so they pause for a moment.]

Purple Heart at your service. The teams are merely meant to divide you all for the tasks we'll have each week...like team-building exercises? This way you can recover from your previous endeavors and prepare to go home. I can't make anyone care about anything, but we thought it may do everyone some good.

[...and then they'll hold the bunny out to her.] Would you like to hold her? [it's hard not to notice her interest, really.]

[anyway she clears her throat and throws her hair over her shoulder as if to appear unaffected, like a dumbass]

Why were we given powers then?

It was simply what we were able to impart on you. In case it may help you in the future? [they tilt their head.] Though yours in particular is rather interesting. We won't be forcing any of you to use your powers if you do not wish to.

[she pauses briefly]

... mm. Illusions, is it? That can be pretty dangerous if I ever want someone to just walk off a cliff where they see a field of flowers.

Isn't that irresponsible to just hand out?

It could be, but I've a feeling someone like you wouldn't trick people like that. [there's a slight pause.] Perhaps it's irresponsible, but we're putting some trust in you guys with the hopes that perhaps you'll trust us as well.

I wouldn't.

But what do you know about me?

Probably more than you'd like me to know, Lili An of the water tribe. [they prop their head up with a hand.] And I know that you tried hard to actually help others in your game, including drinking your own poison to prove a point.

I already did the former and I'm just waiting to find the latter.

So - can you explain why Ookurikara's power is poison?

[gatonina]

[there's a pleasant little laugh under their breath.]

Fair enough. As for Ookurikara's power...I suppose because we also acknowledged he likely wouldn't use it. The powers we were able to impart are a variety of things. After all, there are multiple sides to people.

... you're right. He would never. So - how many of those types of powers did you give out? Dangerous ones, as opposed to ones like mine that aren't immediately lethal.

Me personally? To be honest, most of mine are what you may consider morally gray. They can be used for good or for evil depending on the person in possession of them.

[she thinks about it before sighing, seeming to accept that answer]

I guess that makes sense.

And the other two?

That should be a question you ask them themselves. I'm sure they would be fine answering any questions you have. [a pause.] Regardless, our intention is to keep you safe.

[coastal]

Fine. I will.

[she can understand that, at least. guess she's kicking down more npc doors tomorrow]

That's what I was promised in the last setting I was in, too. Then Tsurumaru was dead on Friday. Do you have any way to promise that it won't happen? Whether by possession or corruption?

[she can weirdly understand if there's just like. a psychopath. she won't pin that on them but that's her job to sleuth those people,,]

You only have my word. Though I suppose I can put it in writing if that would help? [likewise, they can understand where she's coming from. the rabbit in their hands kicks a little but they simply adjust their grip to hold it more comfortably.]

This place should be perfectly free of corruption or possession. Everyone should be safe. We don't plan to encourage anyone to kill, nor do we want that to happen. All that we ask is that you follow our rules while you're here and make yourselves as comfortable as you can.

Some people didn't follow your scrunchie rule and they ended up getting beat up on the bus shortly afterward. Am I going to get jumped when I walk out of this office?

Probably not, though I wouldn't advise trying that either. We did warn you to keep them on for your own safety.

Is there a reason why some rules are enforced more strongly than others?

And why is it for our safety?

It's like I explained to Wei Wuxian earlier. After what happened with the portals, we aren't entirely sure that things won't follow you all here from your original trials. These scrunchies are designed to help protect you from any major harm. As for the rules...I suppose you could say some are enforced more strongly than others in the hopes that maybe people will actually listen.
