...I was in your position not that long ago. A friend of mine and I ended up in the same place, in a game where people were sacrificed kind of like here. He was the first to go because of someone else's selfish choice. And even though I could see him sometimes and still talk to him, I knew I had to get him back. I wasn't going to leave him behind because he's important to me.
[...and this part nets a longer pause.] I couldn't save him. We couldn't save any of them, and this game is my last shot to try, but...it's not about creating realities that don't exist. It's about not knowing if this really is something I can trust, too.
So I guess what I'm saying is...I'm not going to discourage you from trying to save him. From saving all of them. So you really don't have to convince me. I already know.
Not all of us are from the boat. It's just me. I don't know if Dick knows about the others but I kind of got tired lying to him.
[...this seems as good a time as any, and so there's a moment where they pause before reaching up to take the top hat and pull it off to set it aside.]
So if this is some leeway you've been allowed, got anything new for me in terms of information that you can squeeze out? Or do I have to ask questions until I strike gold?
Fine. Same questions as last time then - can you tell me anything more about the murderers? I was going to ask too. You wanted us to make connections between the murderers, see the links between them -
But how can we when we've gotten it wrong two weeks in a row?
[give him a second to think that over.] It happens. You can only learn from your mistakes and analyze your approach to do better. So. What do you think went wrong this week?
I don't know. We didn't get enough answers from evidence? We never figured out what was going on with the marks, or the pieces of the tree that were removed, or the second bullet.
We tried to check everyone during strip check, but we didn't find anything.
There were a lot of questions leftover. Akira did his best but... he ended up carrying a lot of burden.
And I'm sure he blames himself for what happened to Guy but he can't. That won't help anybody. [he pauses, stretching out his shoulders a bit and rolling his neck.]
In a way, it feels like a lot of people give up on examining evidence when the answer doesn't easily present itself. Do you think that's a downfall?
Not necessarily. That's another part of your patience. Maybe it's wise to have a few people focusing on different pieces at a time instead of all of you focusing on the same piece?
You really think people would let themselves be forced to listen? Pretty sure this group's proven they're some of the most stubborn people we could've had.
You don't exactly have to be great at talking or know the right things to say as long as you believe what you're saying to them. [carrying on like he didn't just call kara an asshole.] One of your greatest strengths is the ability to power through. You should remember that.
[he says that and he looks at her, but that's probably bad because suddenly lili's thrown into a memory that lasts until Clover says she'll tell him about what happened on the ship nine years ago. oops. also gimme one of her tier ones or twos if we're swapping]

[if she's going to be honest.]
But I don't plan on giving up - Tsurumaru's counting on me. Everyone else is important too, but I can't abandon my friend no matter what.

ah.]
.... You're from the boat.
That's why Dick's tone has changed so much toward you all - it's because he knows you.

Let's just say Dick knows me probably better than anybody else.

but she's just going to sigh a little bit at that, even as she crosses her arms.]
It's about time. Don't wear that in front of me anymore, alright? It's exhausting not being able to see your face.
Your name then?

Anyway...it's Junpei. Nice to meet you and whatever.

but she looks amused.]
Lili An, nice to meet you properly, Junpei.
So if this is some leeway you've been allowed, got anything new for me in terms of information that you can squeeze out? Or do I have to ask questions until I strike gold?

The only answer to that is yes.
So what was it then - the glowstick? Yu's shoes? If we'd taken more time to look them over, would we have found more?

.... fine, I'll suggest it. If I can get people to listen to me.

But people are forced to listen to reason and information. I just happen to have both.
no subject
People are willing to listen for other reasons, Lili. Sometimes...they even listen just because they're your friends. [:O!!!!! SHOCKING!!!]

[she has to at least get a little defensive despite being the one to put him on the chopping block]
... not everyone here is my friend and -
[ . . . ]
I haven't exactly been a great guide for my friends anyway.
