[As the boys approach the cabin on this lovely Thursday, they will hear the muffled sound of... music? Huh. It appears to originate from within the cabin.]
[hmmmm. . . don't know how to feel about this music!1 but Akira approaches the cabin warily anyway, his drawstring backpack slung over his shoulder. he is dressed in Camp Gatonina garb because he isn't going to risk ruining his cute P5D outfit]
. . . well, here we are.
[he looks over at Chuuya and Dazai, before stepping towards the cabin door and politely knocking!!]
[ Meanwhile, Dazai is in full mafia wardrobe, including his coat. It protects more and he doesn't really care if it gets ruined. There are bandages peeking out from his neck, but he's still missing all the other ones, including his face. ]
Let me try something first.
[ He knows Heart said it wouldn't work on anything there, but it doesn't hurt to try. Kneeling next to Akira to try to pick the lock.
It's a no go :< Either something isn't clicking in right or the lock is too stronk for paperclips. ]
Ah, looks like we might have to go with your favorite method then.
[It seems like the door agrees with Akira, because it sure is not sticking around to hear more about Dazai wearing Chuuya's clothes! Once Chuuya's foot makes contact with the door, it goes flying off its hinges. There's a clattering sound inside — but it's impossible to see what has happened. Everything is perfectly pitch black, not a single bit of light making its way inside despite the fact that it's still daytime. Even with the weather being what it is, it's still... odd. Impossible, even.
[oh wow, talk about deja vu. with a frown, Akira brushes past Chuuya and Dazai to step into the pitch black room, immediately running his hand across the wall near same in search of a light switch]
I don't, but there's probably a switch in here somewhere. . .?
[Chuuya, who has no caution whatsoever, will step into the room right by where the door WOULD have been if he hadn't busted it down. He's right next to Akira, basically.]
[There's no way to see past the murky darkness. To make matters worse, though Akira runs his hand across the wall, he will not find anything remotely resembling a switch on the wall. In fact, the wall feels... odd. Almost unreal; a confusing mix of different textures that should not be possible.
Once they're all inside, however, something happens. There's a woosh from behind them, and a moment later — something slams into the doorframe from outside and blocks their only exit. A second passes, and they hear the telltale sound of a lock. Uh. Didn't they just kick in the door? Wild.
On the bright side, they won't have to stay in the darkness for long. One by one, a row of LED ceiling lights flicker to life, revealing a pristine, featureless white hallway. The very same wooden door they kicked in is now behind them, and there's a shimmering light at the end of the hallway. Looking at it, it will feel a little bit like an invitation.
[. . . he doesn't like the way this feels?? but before he can do anything, the door slams shut behind them, and Akira jumps and jerks away from the wall, hackles raised]
Shit--
[well. that part is familiar too, so as the LED lights flicker on to illuminate the pitch black room, he breathes out deeply to relax]
You think they'd find something other than ominous slamming doors with which to set the mood. . . [glances at the light] . . . shall we?
[he's going to take a step towards it but not before examining the walls to see what they're made of. . . where did that weird texture come from??]
[ At least that answers if this is normal or not. He doesn't like that door is shut and they don't have an exit secured, but he'll start going forward anyways. ]
It is being nice enough to invite us. Might as well see what awaits us.
[ Glancing back at Akira to make sure the wall doesn't eat him or something ]
Visually, the walls seem... okay. At first glance, at least. The more Akira examines them, the more he will realize that there's something deeply wrong with them. It's almost as if they're constantly rippling, changing from concrete, to plastic, to wood, and so forth. The ripples appear at the same rhythm as his heartbeat. The wall won't take a bite out of him or anything, but he will get a bit of a headache if he keeps staring at it.
Chuuya has the right idea. The closer to the light he gets, the brighter it becomes. It feels warm against his skin. Will the gang split up by allowing Chuuya to step into the light, or will Akira and Dazai catch up?]
[Seems like the gang has chosen to stay together. How nice!
The light feels comforting as they step through it. Warm, like the embrace of someone you love. They will find themselves soothed by it as they step into the light, and slowly, as their vision is overtaken by the sheer brightness, their thoughts
When their awareness finally returns to them, they will realize that their eyes are closed. But even from behind their eyelids, the soft glowing light can be seen as they find themselves awakening. The slow swell of strings begins, and as they struggle to open their eyes, the sound of footsteps approach them. They will hear three voices speak in unison.]
"-̷̧̱̲͓̠͊ͭ̉̚-̨̪̲̥̥̭̯̠̋̇ͥͩͬͮͨ-ͫͦͥͯ͟҉͇͔̹͚̤̦́-̴̺̬̥̌ͧ̈-̨̩̖̮̄̉̽-̧̮̟̜ͩͮͨ̅͒ͨ ̧͎̬͍̠͐̉̀-ͪ̈ͨ͂҉̲̙͇̝̠̗̣̟-̜̩̩̟̻̝̜̘̂̓́-̮̦̫͔͖̱͊̋͛-͍͖͐̌̅̋ͦ̄ͣ̈̚ wishes to welcome you all. We hope you enjoy your stay!"
[The footsteps move past them, but the boys will be able to open their eyes before they fade away. Each one of them will catch a glimpse of one of three individuals, respectively. Akira, a young man with brown hair, wearing a neatly pressed school uniform. Chuuya, a slim, pale man with long black hair. Dazai, a middle aged man with dark hair and a red scarf. The three turn their heads in the group's direction long enough to make eye contact with them, and then they are gone, having walked out the door.
Coincidentally, it is at this time that Akira, Chuuya and Dazai will suddenly struggle to remember their own names. How odd.
Welcome to the ballroom. The last time they found themselves in this predicament, the room was filled with confused, anxious faces. Now, the banquet table remains empty save for the three of them.]
[the discomfort of all of his thoughts suddenly melting away is striking, but not unexpected, and when Akira is next aware he pushes himself awake with eyes snapping open and breathing slightly labored]
Wh--
[his gaze falls on the figure of a familiar young man with brown hair, his entire body tensing up as soon as he sees him. but before he can say anything else? Akechi is gone, vanishing through the door, and Ak̵̞̪̿͋̽̀͝ï̶̡͔̺͜r̷̠͉̗̦̬̓̌a̷̠̹̋̓ (. . . ? why does the name feel so foreign?) exhales sharply]
The ballroom. . .?
[he shouldn't be surprised, considering what he had heard from the other exploration groups, but he is. just a little bit. at any rate, he is standing and immediately heading for the portraits. are they still here??]
[This is absolutely the wrong week to do this, because a certain redhead is tired of all the spicy food and is actually tempted by the banquet table. But his eyes only linger there for a moment, because the movement of someone beside him catches his attention.]
Hey, where are you going?
[Yep, he's getting up to follow. Because it's probably better to stay as a group.
He hasn't even realized that he's forgotten his name yet.]

no subject
. . . well, here we are.
[he looks over at Chuuya and Dazai, before stepping towards the cabin door and politely knocking!!]
Helloooooo? Is anyone home?
no subject
Also Chuuya is just wearing his camp clothes too, no risking the cool outfit.]
So, am I kicking the door in then?
[Since knocking didn't work and all.]
no subject
Let me try something first.
[ He knows Heart said it wouldn't work on anything there, but it doesn't hurt to try. Kneeling next to Akira to try to pick the lock.

no subject
H-- hey. Where'd you get that?
[he's pouting slightly. is he jealous? maybe a little]
no subject
You had those clothes this entire time and you kept stealing my stuff?!
[Why?!
And he'll try his key first, but that's a no go. Door-kicking will be next tag.]
no subject
I asked Heart for some paperclips and made my own.
[ Chuuya, you've been living in his cabin with him. Did you just notice. ]
You say that like you didn't enjoy seeing me in your clothes, Chuuya.
no subject
[. . .]
[he was going to say something else but he super doesn't want to linger on the thought of Dazai wearing Chuuya's clothes SO--]
Kicking? The kicking thing? Now is a good time for that.
no subject
And Chuuya will go ahead and kick down the door, and with a bit of extra oomph because Dazai is being annoying right now. Here's hoping it works!]
no subject
The music has come to a complete halt.
Shall they step inside?]
no subject
Once the door flies inside, he's going to squint at the darkness. ]
Maybe we should have bought those glow sticks. Would either of you happen to have a light?
no subject
I don't, but there's probably a switch in here somewhere. . .?
Maybe.
no subject
[Chuuya, who has no caution whatsoever, will step into the room right by where the door WOULD have been if he hadn't busted it down. He's right next to Akira, basically.]
no subject
I didn't even bring my phone.
[ He didn't want it broken. ]

no subject
What is it with these goddamn murder spots and their rooms that are way bigger on the inside?
[He's tired of this shit.
But unlike Akira, he's going to just storm on forward. It's obvious where their goal is, so he's not going to wait. Keep up, boys.]

The both of you heard that whatever we find in these cabins are more remnants, right?
[he asks as they move forward. just in case. he wants them to be prepared for whatever they find]
[and Akira, at least, is going to catch up to Chuuya before he steps into the light!]
no subject
Yeah, that's what I heard. The question is, what remnant is this?
[Let's go into the light, friendos.]
no subject
Also that's news to him. ]
It doesn't look like anything I've seen, but my own experience is rather limited compared to you two.
[ Since he died.Time to head into the light /o/ ]
