Given how I'm certain the entirely of our ship members will do so individually, I'm sure Dick is waiting for a prime moment as well. [ he smiles in exasperation though ] But I am well aware of such. It still bears repeating to take caution when things such as sharks occur.

I'd rather not find out what would happen if you were to be grievously wounded.

In my defense, the shark was not my fault and we didn't know how awake or angry it'd be when we opened the door. [that is a terrible defense.] But yeah, okay, noted. No more shark fights.

[...he just kind of shrugs though.] I don't know if you'd have to ever worry about that, actually.

[ that really is a terrible defense and tonbo just stares like a judgy thing before the next portion gets him to blink out of it. ]

...yeah. [this explains. nothing.] Let's just say something changed about this vessel, too, that's made it one that can't perish just yet.

[ he's uh. thinking about certain unwanted changes that nearly happened to his vessel ]

...nah, we just can't die I guess. We can still feel every hit we take and it heals faster, but it still has to heal. But we're still the same otherwise.

[ WELL, ON ONE HAND, IT'S ONE WEIGHT OFF HIS SHOULDER. on the other, junpei did you accidentally become immortal ]

Is this a permanent thing do you think? Or something only related to what binds you here?

Most likely it's something to do with this place. I don't know how long it'll last, or if it'll change. But I'm keeping an eye on it.

While I certainly don't like the idea of something happening, it's a relief to know you would be relatively safe if anyone decided to target you.

I'm really kind of hoping to avoid that, but yeah. Tell me about it. I think I'm doing okay though. Nobody targeted me on the ship either, so...I might be safe.

[it's not entirely how demons work, but okay.]

I trust you plenty enough. I don't trust you tempting fate.

That's kind of my job, Tonbo. Thought you knew that about me.

[daifukus]

[ yeah and he feels exasperated every time he remembers too. junpei gets a head scrub for his shenanigans ]

Fate has a way of surprising us when we least expect it. I certainly wish nothing harmful in that nature.

Ah, stop! [swatting!!!]

This is why I try to beat fate as much as I can. I'm not always a huge fan of surprises.

[daifukus]

[ laughs and pats his head once more before releasing him ]

Then I only hope that it leads you well to good things as we continue. Goodness knows we need no more surprises like those we've been given recently.

No kidding. [he grins almost ruefully.] The only surprise I want is a surprise answer for how to get us out of here. But we'll have to see.

[daifukus]

I have faith we'll figure it out sooner or later. The others are certainly doing their best to find it.

[ boy did they sure get surprised ]

I only hope we'll have enough time left to put it in action.

Worst case scenario? We figure out how to make more time for ourselves.

[daifukus]

[ stares at the sky ]

At least we are not working with a time limit.

[ a beat and then tonbo looks down in partial terror. ]

........We are not working on another time limit, are we?

Right now? As far as I know, no. So we're safe that way.

We'll have to move quickly then, once things start settling into place. We're almost there I would think. I'm sure everyone is quite ready to be done with the second round of this.

I'm pretty sure everyone was ready the moment they woke up on the bus. But we're getting there. There's still a few pieces that we're missing...I can tell. But it can't be much longer than how long we were on that ship.

We have time, but probably not too much.
