[As the trio approach the purple cabin, they'll find that it looks pretty normal on the outside? It looks exactly like all of the other cabins except for the heart on the door, and as they step up to it they won't hear anything amiss.
They will find, however, that the door is locked? What will they do about that...]
[This was definitely not Yasusada's idea, but hey, he's got experience with raids?? The Shinsengumi have their own phrase and everything. Incredible. (He might say it? Don't let him announce that they're performing a raid, please.)
Actually, though, before he even tries the door, he'll look at both Sanji and Dick. Does he even know Dick's name. Probably not. I hate Yasusada.
ANYWAY]
Lili-kun told me that when you do things like this, it can take your past experiences and manipulate your feelings. So we'll have to be careful about that.
[As if he's not the person here most likely to fall for it, but hey. He'll try.]
[ whose idea was this. we didn't decide this in advance, because dick would've probably come more prepared but i didn't want him to. Either way, here he is now, the third wheel. He's at least talked to Sanji a few times, but he and Yams were ships passing through the night... oops. ]
Right. That's also in line with what Taako and the others experienced-- so long as we keep in mind that most of what we'll see won't be real, we should be fine.
[This is, to my great sadness, probably Sanji's idea and he thought this would a. let Yams blow off some steam, and b. let's face it, Dick is one of the only people here who knows what he's doing, so--]
Alright, noted.
[Sanji also knew this too but damned if he's gonna let a comrade feel useless. Maybe he babies Yasusada too much? Probably. Anyway god Dick, you talk a lot, let's get this show on the road.]
First things first, shitheads. How we opening up the door? I'd say it looks pretty kickable, but I'm open to suggestions.
[LOOK it's always good to reiterate, okay!! Everyone has to know the details for a raid to work properly. They've got this. (no)]
I suppose we're not trying to sneak in, then... [Which is probably good because he's dressed in bright blue] We could try it? I can use my shoulder too.
[ dick is not reassured by the fact that both of them immediately go for violence. that's what happens when you're the only one from a stealth team ]
We should probably try sneaking in first. [ to build on yams and sanji both. ] I know how to pick locks, and we don't know if there's anyone in there right now.
[Look he's just taking after Okita, okay. And hey, last time Yasusada wasn't allowed to stab for a while he scared everyone by chopping off the head of his own puppet so
Sanji is not incorrect
Also, because he's, shockingly, not always 100% idiot--]
Won't they hear the noise by the lock anyway?
[If someone's inside... but he won't stop Dick from doing his best.]
[ well, no, they probably are, but he goes over to try and unlock it. with. a dart he pulls out of his pockets, do not @ him. the good news is, dick is very good at what he does and it does, indeed, take no time for them to hear the telltale click of the door unlocking!
the bad news is when he tries it-- ]
...
It's stuck.
[ THAT WAS A WASTE OF TIME AND HE'S GOING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY TO FACEPALM ]
[KICKY!! Sanji kicks the unlocked door and it snaps back, opening up wide and revealing what looks like a dark room? Why are there no windows? Or maybe it's just that things need a better look. There are a few unidentifiable shapes that can be seen in the dark, and there's also the outline of a window in the back.
There are no lights on though.
So. What's next? Your door's wide open but it's like even the sunlight can't shine against the shadows.]
[Well fortunately Yasusada did not rush in and fall flat on his face (I say fortunately but I mean tragically), and he's the one with the most obvious weapon here?? So let him go inside first please and thank you. He'll keep his hands on his sword, ready to draw if he has to, and head towards the window.]
[ well. dick does a little low impressed whistle at the kick, because it was very nice and smooth and he might be a sneaky bastard but he enjoys violence, and he almost follows yams in but. pauses before taking out a purple glowstick from his pocket and snapping it so it turns on.
then he heads in and like, looks to the side of the entrance for ?? a light switch??? ]
[... Honestly he expected this to backfire on them in some way, so Sanji will be the last to enter despite being the Kicky one. Hm.
He's waiting for that potential light switch before he bothers trying out the flashlight he got from [redacted] which is the only reason why Sanji is vaguely prepared. Someone offered him a brain cell.
But he's going to go directly into the middle of the room first, glancing around... any of those unidentifiable objects furniture shaped this further in?]
[There's no light switch, weirdly. In fact, if Dick's feeling up the wall for one he might feel the wall itself rippling under his hand.
As for Yasusada and Sanji, they won't be able to do much until Sanji tries out his flashlight.
With said-light, he'll be able to get a glimpse of a few things. A large couch. A bar. A basketball hoop that seems to be swaying. And on the back wall painted in red above the hoop there's a message:
"Let the game end where I treat two."
But not long after, each of them will feel a sharp prick in their neck and immediately be forced to sleep, much like what they've experienced during curfew.
...
...
...
It's hard to say how much time passes between stepping into the cabin and waking up once again, but as they come to consciousness they'll find a few things. For one, the lights are all on and they can see around the room itself. There are two long brown couches facing one another with a table in between in the center of the room, a round matching carpet under them. The basketball hoop and its ominous message are on the wall behind those couches, and to the side there are brick pillars holding up a small second-level platform. There’s a little TV stand with an old-style TV, antennae sticking out, and by the bar there’s another TV. The bar, should they explore, is stocked with lots of alcohol and canned goods…but there’s also an ouija board on it, similar to the one found on the bus.
Behind the bar, however, is a large vault door with a red X painted on it. To the right, there’s a board that looks like some sort of digital display.
Likewise, there’s a computer terminal against a wall, and a red box on the floor. There’s an opening toward the back to step into another hall and go for another room.
But oh. Before they get much further in their exploration, they may want to check out the thick, black collars on their necks with blinking red lights. Those probably aren’t great.]
[Wow I can't believe they're going to get their heads blown off
Anyway, first of all, rude. STOP KNOCKING PEOPLE UNCONSCIOUS he could've hurt himself, and by hurt himself I mean drop his sword!! But he is, naturally, immediately distracted from looking around by the collars, and he reaches up, tugging his scarf away so he can touch his own.]
dick doesn't have time to react to much before he's knocked unconscious, which is. a thing that happened for all of them. can he look at his stupid glowstick to figure out how much time passed by how faded it is. probably not, but he will try.
much like yams, his hands immediately go the collar around his neck, searching for any kind of indentation or weakness or even a lock he can pick, because, actually, this isn't his first time in collars ]
Wall rippled before we got knocked out. [ his voice is a bit rough, and it's hard to tell if it's from just waking up or being a little growl-y at. this. ] You guys okay? No injuries?
[ status report is important. he doesn't quite wait for the answer to go directly to the computer terminal because. sometimes.
God but Sanji is stressed when he comes to, hands also flying up to his neck. He doesn't bother to try and pull off the collar -- shit is never that simple -- but his expression is rigid and ready to throw down as he slowly picks himself off the floor]
M'fine. C'mon, let's pick shit to look at so we can be done with this.
[Sanji and Dick: not my first rodeo]
Imma check out the bar first.
[Which is where he zooms, and thus finds that ouija board mocking them. Hm, don't like this! And since he does not want to waste time here, Sanji's going to spell out "How do we escape" just on the off-chance that... solves it. YOU DID IT, CHEF]
[RIP to all of them. The first thing they'll notice upon checking the collar is that it's bulky and it seems as though there are pins stuck into their neck to hold it in place. It's a little on the heavy side, too.
Dick can check out the terminal, but what he will find is a singular screen with two options: K-Team, and L-Team.
As Sanji examines the bar, he'll find a lot of alcohol, but the board itself seems to be waiting. As Sanji asks though, the board begins to move on its own.]
Sometimes life is simply unfair.
[After a moment, the TV turns on by itself, static obscuring the picture and the audio distorted. As they listen though, it will sometimes sound like a woman, and sometimes like a man. Nothing too entirely distinct, but the words are clear.]
Don’t you think? It’s the same for all of you. The pull of an unjust fate carried you along to this moment, only to find yourselves trapped in this camp.
[The picture on the screen changes to a map, three colored sections blocked off to divide a building into thirds.]
As you can see, this place is divided into three sections. Reiju, Wally, Nagasone. You are in R-Ward, and henchforth shall be known as R-Team. Reiju, you are this team's leader. Sanji, Dick, and Yasusada. You are in S-Ward, and henchforth shall be known as S-Team. As you may presume, Sanji, you are this team's leader. And finally, Tim, Luffy, and Kashuu. You are in T-Ward, and henceforth shall be known as T-Team. Time, you are this team's leader.
You may wander as you wish throughout your ward, though perhaps you may wish to dedicate your time wisely as there is a limit.
[The image changes to a picture of the door on the wall before them.]
See this door? It is clearly marked with an X. This door shall be your escape from this place. The door itself is easy enough to open. Simply obtain the X-Pass and input them into the device beside it. Six X-Passes are needed for the door to unlock.
[And if they look to the board beside the door, it now reads: R-Team, S-Team, and T-Team with six slots for each team.]
One X-Pass shall be announced every time someone dies. In blunter terms, if six of you die, the rest will gain all passwords and be able to open the door. One caveat: the door only remains open for 30 seconds. Once those seconds pass, the door will close and it will never open again.
[Now, the image on screen begins to rotate, showing images of the other teams in similar lounges in different colors. Each team is shown with similar collars as well, watching their own screens, listening to their own instructions.]
I'm sure you're all wondering: how can I kill six people? I will provide you with one opportunity. By majority vote, determine one team to execute. The team names are displayed on the monitor of your computer. Choose the team you've decided to eliminate. Each team gets one vote. The leader must submit it for the group. Your deadline is fifteen minutes from now. Any team that hasn't voted when the time limit is up shall be penalized two votes. The group with two or more votes shall lose. Every member of that team will be executed.
Let us begin.
[The screen goes dark, and they're left alone, the collars blinking almost cheerfully as the screen displays their options.
[THANKS FOR LEAVING HIM ON THE FLOOR Y'ALL. But no, after fiddling with the collar, he'll get to his feet as well. His grip on his vessel is tight, but as soon as the screen flashes to life and the voice begins speaking, his grip on it goes white-knuckled.
Just because Yasusada was the one to bring it up, it doesn't mean that he's impervious. He'd been braced for mentions, visions, of Okita--he's never made that devotion a secret. So to hear those names instead, especially when he hasn't told anyone about Nagasone... he stands, frozen, all the color draining out of his face.]
[ dick takes a step back from the vote monitor the second the voice tells them exactly what it's for, fists balled at his side. He knows, of course, that this is probably fake-- they'd talked about it earlier, and Wally is-- Wally West is dead and gone and Tim isn't here, but that doesn't make it any easier to look at them on that screen or hear their names.
(They look like his, but then again, so did Jason. So even if they were real-- who exactly would it be that he's condemning?)
He shakes his head and goes for the red box on the floor instead, to see if he can't open it. ]
Everybody stay-- [ he almost says whelmed before he remembers who he's with ] calm. We talked about this-- they're not real. This entire camp has access to our memories.
[ ... but that doesn't mean he's eager to play along and kill, even in a simulation, so: ]
Let's try to find a different solution first before we engage in anything. I've more than had my fair share of playing death games.
[Speaking directly to his fellow castlemate first (who I didn't even realize was on the floor, I'm weeping), once the announcement ends and Sanji has forced himself to breathe a hiss through his teeth.] The castle pulled something like this; this shit isn't real.
[Which is. What Dick said. But team player Sanji seems to have vacated the premises for now. He drops his eyes back to the ouija board with a barely contained scowl]
But if it comes down to it, let's just get this shit out in the open before we're pressed for time: pick Reiju's team. If she's the lead, she won't vote for me.
[And after that little declaration, he'll finally return to surveying the room... before going right back to that board. What does 'Let the game end where I treat two' mean?
It doesn't make sense to leave a riddle if there's no way to solve it, he hopes.]
Lemme know what you guys are looking at so we don't overlap.
[Sure hope someone's keeping track of the time here. As it is, they'll be able to take some time to themselves to think and also stop dropping Yams on the floor. Seriously what the fuck.
Perhaps it isn't real, but Sanji's declaration's out there which means Dick and Yasusada can agree or contest it. Sanji will have to study that board for a while if he ever plans to figure out what the hell it means, but if he looks at the angle just right, he might notice that the letters are wavering and moving, as if the message itself is daring to change.
Why film live. Tame less.
Meanwhile, Dick will get a better look at that box! And wouldn't you know it? It says FORCE QUIT BOX right on it, a small display screen at the top and a keyboard installed in the lid for password input.
[I'M SO SORRY DICK but it's true--Yasusada hears Dick's words, but Sanji's are the ones that reach him more clearly. He drags in a shaky break, nodding--and it's unsteady, but he's... he's trying. He's got a death grip on his sword, but he is.]
Kiyomitsu wouldn't... he wouldn't vote for-- for me.
[So. There's that.
He knows absolutely nothing about technology, so he'll leave all that to them. Instead, he'll head for the second story platform. Is there anything for him to see up here?]
[ it's fine, dick knows he's the third wheel of this party. literally. there's a grimace on his face when sanji mentions it, but-- ]
... Tim and Wally wouldn't go for a vote at all. [ it's said with conviction, despite everything. dick wouldn't, either, but he's not team leader here, and-- he reminds himself-- it's not real. it can't be. he's sort of keeping track of the time, because Someone has to, but he's a lot more curious about: ] There's a "force quit" box here. It needs a password.
[ he'll look the box all over in case there's a secret hint or something else in it before looking around the bar and computer in general to see if there's anything else ]
W2, WEDNESDAY
