Alright. You and I have some things in common and I think that despite the way you hold people at arms' length, you want what's best for people. You want to belong to people, and for people to belong to you. That's why you acted on your own and killed that doctor, isn't it? For the sake of those remaining, and knowing that it would eliminate someone who posed a threat to what you consider to be yours.
Likewise, I think your power is something you would use for good after the pain you've seen others go through. Trauma is...shitty, to be frank. And I believe that those you deem worthy of your loyalty would benefit from your help if you felt that was your only and last choice.
Thematically speaking, I chose those I felt have strong hearts. Whether you agree or not isn't really of interest to me. It's simply how I feel.
[There's a few different expressions that cross her face while she listens. The most notable is probably the near fury that appears as soon as they mention Hannibal, and for a moment it seems like they might interrupt Purple Heart. Honestly, the only reason she doesn't is because she promised to listen. Still, despite that promise... She still sounds frustrated when she answers. They've given her a disclaimer that they don't need her agreement, but nonetheless:]
...That's not true.
[It isn't clear which part she's talking about from that, but it's probably a mix of a few different things.]
First off, saying I want people to belong to me is, like, the most fucked up way you could have put that. Even if you were right about the part about me secretly caring about people or whatever, those are two way different things. I don't consider anyone to be mine even if I like them or whatever.
Second, there's no - good way or kind way or whatever to mess with somebody's head. Nobody's going to benefit from me taking something as valuable as memories away from them, and if you knew anything about me, you'd know exactly why I'm not going to use it.
[She still sounds plenty angry as she says all that, but not quite as angry as she looked a moment ago.]
[they consider this for a moment, and it almost seems as though they have nothing to say before there's a nod of agreement.]
Fair enough, I suppose. [that's it?] My apologies, I've forgotten not everyone is used to my way of phrasing things.
The power is yours to do whatever you'd like. If you choose not to use it at all, then I admire you for that. If you do ever decide to, I wouldn't fault you for that. Simple.
I wouldn't necessarily say they were similar. They were just what I was able to provide. But yes, my powers are my own, just like Winter's and Shadows' are theirs. It would be a bit silly to pick their powers for them.

Everyone wants to belong somewhere and have meaning behind it, don't they? Even if they won't admit it.

She pauses for a moment, surprised, before she responds.]
So there was a reason. [That Purple Heart picked her, she means.] Want to share with the class?

Did you give everybody powers that were similar? Actually, bigger question, did you only pick powers for your own team?
