[there are a few scattered papers with some doodles, there's a book, and there's some rabbit treats for bun but otherwise nothing of interest on the desk. instead, they nod and reach into the desk to pull out a small canister of sugar, a clean coffee mug, and they turn around to grab the pot to pour for him.]

Help yourself. [and while chuuya does that, they take another sip and think this over.] So tell me more about this hit.

[Time for all the sugar in the coffee! He still likes it too sweet.]

Someone painted a purple heart onto a rock and drew a line through it.

...I know that sounds dumb, hearing it now, but I'm pretty sure it was a threat.

They might try more stuff, you know. Leave more messages here and there. If you can see everything in camp, then maybe you'll see them.

I'll have more than a friendly conversation with them myself, actually. But I'm sure plenty of people are looking for them. Not even for my sake but...Evan and Tsurumaru had people who cared about them.

I know. It's...hard, really, to think about them knowing they were both technically victims of circumstance. It's what we wanted to avoid and couldn't in the end, so to have someone almost make a mockery of their deaths is...pretty shitty, mostly.

Look, I know you guys are limited in what you can do here, but is there anything we can do to root out who's being a prick here? Like, set up a camera to see who's leaving those rocks everywhere or something?

Cameras, no, but technically nothing is stopping you guys from setting up traps and stuff. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do as we aren't allowed to interfere.

But the one thing I can advise you on is talking to others. Never underestimate the power of communication, Chuuya. You'd be amazed what sort of information falls into your lap.

You can talk to people without liking them. You'd be surprised what people are willing to do in life or death situations. Besides, don't you have people like Akira to vouch for you?

Even if someone's better at it...it shouldn't stop you from making an attempt. There may even be some people that find Akira obnoxious and would prefer a more brash approach. Strong leaders always need people to be strong supporters, and that includes taking the lead when needed.
