It is hard to be patient doing the whole shebang all over again, I'll give them that.

I know, I know...nobody asked for this, so having to go through it again is frustrating. But you'd think people would've learned the first time that patience was important then, too.

That was a hard-learned lesson the first time, too. I-- well, you might know about it.

I do, but let's pretend I don't. How did you all learn the first time?

I'm a pretty wise old man, so I didn't need to learn anything.

Picking up on the clues... but mostly, it involved someone in your position yelling the answer at them and getting punished for it.

[ giving them a 'don't get any ideas' kind of look. ]

...yeah we already tried that, so good to know that's apparently a universal constant. That was that girl getting her mouth stitched shut, right? What about after that? Was it easier then?

Yes, it was. The majority realized they were on our side from that point on, and opened their eyes and ears a little better. I still had to hammer some things directly onto their heads, but it was easier.

Seems to me that after you tried to help us with the culprit's names, some people came around. Was it not enough?

[gatonina]

Some, but not everyone. Though considering all of your experiences I shouldn't find that surprising. Things are better now, I suppose, but even then...it's hard to know if people really trust us or they're just waiting to use us and blame us.

[slobjection]

People under stress will take any opportunity they can to point fingers. It's universal.... and worse, in situations like this. They perceive you three to be in a position of power.... when, you may be more powerless than they are, in reality.

[ lil bitterness showing there. ]

Still.... you do have some real supporters around. Those concerned citizens who came to check on you after rock guy's stunt.

That number wasn't insignificant, at least. And I can acknowledge as much. I suppose...you're right in that sense.

I'm not as bothered as I should be, but sometimes people say things that are more frustrating than usual.

That's where the pranking comes in.

[ joking.... probably? ]

We're only a few weeks in.... so it'll probably take a couple more to get people to start smartening up. Wish I had better news for you, but.

No...I understand that well enough. [Alas.] Until then I suppose we'll set our sights elsewhere.

Yes, I figure you'd start kicking me out if I got on your nerves. Or siccing your rabbit on me.

She doesn't know how to attack so even if I wanted to, you'd be safe.

Animals really don't just hate people for no reason. I think.

Don't you know my whole life? You should know that's not true.

I really try not to spy on your whole life just because I'm capable of doing so.
