I— Listen, we have to kill someone this week. Everyone left is someone’s . . . special person, who they can’t possibly lose, and I don’t know— I feel like I’m holding the, uh, fuckin’ wirecutters over the bomb and this is either going to defuse it and we all make it out, or I cut the wrong one and we all get blown to fuckin’ bits and I’ve ruined it for all of us.

Because if I kill the wrong person, people will freak out, they’ll start revenge murdering, making dumb plots to sniff out murderers and cut us down for crimes against their fucking honor or whatever, and then I think it’s all gonna slip away through our hands. Because this [He holds up his wrist, with the gold sequins.] Is the first bit of hope I’ve had in a really, really long time and I just feel like I’m. I dunno.

My point is, I think I need to kill someone who might stop and listen - if we explained what was happening. If we told them that we’re a team now and we’re trying our best to solve it and I think we’re so fucking close, but they have to die and let me do that. But that we’re going to try and make it right, so they can take everyone home with them that they care about.

I think a lot of people are going to be too freaked out to even listen to what we have to say before we begin. I think of the ones that might not freak out immediately, might not agree to it. And then there are the ones that will cause people to start a revenge cycle, because people will just . . . start violence over them.

I think Anaido would listen. I think he’d want to help. But he’s your person, and I don’t want to take him from you, if that’s gonna be too much.

And I’ll be real, you and I both know I need something from you, if this all goes bellyup. So I won’t jeopardize that.
